I'm Kate Staples, former GB athlete, British record-holder in the pole-vault, and 'Zodiac' on Gladiators for 6 years. At the height of my athletics career, I broke my neck during a live arena show - just before I was due to join Team GB at the Sydney Olympics. In spite of serious injury and a long rehab journey, my passion for health and fitness grew and grew.

With over 20 years experience in the fitness industry, I am proud to have built Aspire to Greatness offering athletic development programmes in schools and communities . 
I hold a Master Diploma in Outdoor Fitness Training, Level 3 Premier Training in Advanced Health and Fitness as well as certification in power yoga, TRX, core training, functional movement and resistance training techniques. Since 2000 I’ve been working as a PT and master bootcamp trainer, guiding my clients towards a healthier lifestyle. In 2013, I co-authored Burn Fat Fast with Patrick Holford which follows my low-GI diet approach with fitness for maximum results. I'm currently studying Level 4 Children's Fitness, as well as Level 2 Athletics to continue my professional journey. 
Perhaps my greatest achievement are my three children - appreciating what it takes to raise a family as a full-time working mother. The juggle is a constant reminder of how difficult it is to keep consistency in one's life and to prioritise one's health. 
Through working with a diverse group of clients over the years, I have come to realise that everybody is unique, each with their own goals and lifestyle. My programmes have been built on this depth of knowledge and experience - and an understanding of what works to build happier, healthier lifestyles.
